We are proud to host Etuk Ubong and his Afrobeat and Jazz ensemble all the way from Lagos (!) at the ever inviting A L P H A B E T on the 2nd of April.
ETUK UBONG
Etuk Ubong is a Nigerian trumpeter, composer, and bandleader known for his unique fusion of Afrobeat, highlife, jazz, and the ritualistic drumming of Ekombi.
His music is vibrant, energetic, and spiritually driven, reflecting his heritage and life philosophy of goodwill, peace, and love for humanity. With compositions that are both politically charged and deeply rooted in his cultural background, Ubong’s sound has drawn comparisons to prominent UK artists such as Shabaka Hutchings and Sons of Kemet, yet remains distinctly Nigerian.
